Near-range cameras and ultrasonic sensors enlarge the driver’s view by providing up to 360 degree surround view. This makes parking into even the smallest parking spaces easy and comfortable. If the sensors detect obstacles, the systems warn the driver of impending collisions, and even brake automatically when necessary. The fusion of sensor data makes those systems even more reliable.

In the future, Bosch will be combining its connected and automated parking solutions to create an especially convenient full-service offering. With automated valet parking, the vehicle drives itself driverless and autonomously to its parking space inside the parking garage. Drivers simply drop the vehicle at the appointed area near the garage entrance
and starts the parking process, using a device such as a smartphone. The vehicle then automatically searches for and enters a suitable parking space. When drivers return, they wait for the vehicle to drive itself back to the pickup area. All that’s left is to get in.
Around 40 percent of all passenger vehicle accidents involving property damage occur during parking and maneuvering. Tight parking spaces often require multiple maneuvering actions, which can quickly result in dents and scratches. Getting in or out of a vehicle is nearly impossible when cars are parked tightly beside one another.
No wonder that almost two-thirds of drivers would be willing to relinquish control of their vehicles during parking maneuvers. As a specific response to such situations, Bosch has developed automated parking assistance systems that largely eliminate the need for driver input while entering and exiting parking spaces. Vehicles can autonomously enter and exit the space, no matter if it is on the street, in a parking lot, or in public and private garages.
Parking the car on a private parking lot or underground parking space is a daily ritual for many drivers, which however requires paying close attention. The home zone park assist simplifies this task by parking and existing automatically while mastering an access route of up to 100 meters. Instead of maneuvering himself, the driver only needs to monitor and control the parking maneuver, simply at the touch of a button.
Parking garages are often narrow and confusing, so maneuvering can quickly become a challenge. If there is oncoming traffic, for example when the driver is about to drive up one floor, reversing can lead to stress. By following the previously recorded trajectory, the reversing assist takes over the steering task, helps backing up and even brakes automatically, when obstacles are detected on the pathway.
Parking is among the activities most likely to be associated with stress and accidents. As every centimeter counts when parking, it is usually better to see than to hear. The multi-camera system provides the driver seamlessly with the best perspective thanks to a 360 degree surround view and an automatic, real-time tracking shot. In addition, the multi-camera system generates a realistic, animated 3D vehicle model to ensure easy, safe and comfortable parking and maneuvering.
With the garage park assist parking in narrow garages will be no problem anymore. The partially automated function takes over parking into and out of the garage including an access route of up to 10 meters. The driver can solely concentrate on monitoring and controlling the parking maneuver - simply at the touch of a button.
The system enables automated parking for pulling into and out of selected parking spaces. The driver can concentrate on controlling the parking maneuver. He or she has the option to remain in the car or get out ahead of time while the vehicle parks itself. Even spaces so tight that the car doors will barely open will soon be no hindrance.
Modern vehicles often offer the driver only a limited view of the vehicle’s surroundings. Increasingly smaller side and rear windows, combined with a vehicle shape that is strongly influenced by aerodynamics and pedestrian protection, is making safe and precise maneuvering extremely difficult. The Bosch rear view system assists drivers reversing by displaying the image onto the vehicle’s dashboard.
Backing out of a parking space at right angles to the road can often be a challenge – especially when the driver's view on the traffic passing at right angles behind his own vehicle is blocked by obstacles. Rear cross traffic alert can make backing out of parking spaces easier by warning of crossing vehicles when getting out of a parking space.
Unsuccessful parking attempts are frustrating and nerve-wracking. The Bosch park assist gets drivers into any suitable parking space within seconds – without any stress or hassle. At the push of a button, the assistant parks the vehicle. All the driver has to do is accelerating and braking.
