CNG systems for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles

Future-proofuse in bifuel and monofuel operation, in medium-pressure and low-pressure systems

All over the world, the CNG technology from Bosch assists bifuel vehicles, which can be powered by CNG or gasoline, as well as monofuel vehicles, which use only CNG as a fuel. Bifuel engines can be designed on the basis of gasoline direct or intake-manifold fuel injection. Bosch systems can be used in both turbo and naturally-aspirated engines and are able to powertrain vehicles with low-pressure and medium-pressure system designs.

To ensure that components from Bosch are future proof, they are designed for use in oil-free gas. Biogas can also be used with the latest standard components.

eFuels are produced exclusively from regenerative sources. Using a two-step chemical process, renewable methane (eCNG) can be produced from water, CO2 and regenerative electricity. One European OEM is already offering CNG vehicles including a package for methane produced from excess wind-powered electricity (eCNG).

This reduces the CO2 footprint of the vehicle. Compared to conventional CNG, the CO2 reduction can be tripled. With that development in mind, eCNG can be called the first eFuel in automotive series production. In the future, eCNG could be one way towards CO2-neutral mobility.
